When you think of taking a trip to Utah, you probably picture visiting the bustling Salt Lake City or hiking through one of the state’s awe-inspiring national parks. While these are both excellent options, Spanish Fork is also a great place for a weekend escape! Our community is centrally located with easy access to both the big city and wonderful nature views and has several attractions of its own. Here are some ideas for things to do in Spanish Fork, UT.

Saddle up for the Rodeo

We’ll start with our favorite first—the rodeo! Nothing quite defines the spirit of Spanish Fork quite like Fiesta Days Rodeo. Held annually every July, the rodeo is an iconic event that draws audiences from across the state. It showcases world-class bull riders, barrel racers, and roping events that will keep you on the edge of your seat (Triple-T is sponsoring Gold Chute #3)! While the main event starts at 7:30 pm this year, we recommend getting there early so you don’t miss any of the preshow activities.

Walk the Spanish Fork River Trail

Perhaps you love being one with nature. Spanish Fork is the perfect place to enjoy pristine landscapes. The Spanish Fork River Trail is a scenic, paved trail that winds past some truly spectacular views. The trail itself is only about three miles long and open year-round, making it the perfect quick addition to any itinerary. Consider bringing a picnic basket for lunch in one of the nearby parks!

Visit the Local Krishna Temple

Here’s something you won’t find in just any city! The Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple is a hidden gem just south of Spanish Fork. It’s built in a traditional Indian architectural style and serves as a cultural center for the entire community (not just those who practice Hinduism). The temple is open to visitors and hosts a variety of activities, like yoga classes, guided tours, and the annual Festival of Colors (Holi). Take some time to explore the temple grounds, feed the llamas, or sample vegetarian Indian cuisine at Govinda’s Restaurant, located inside the temple.

Hang Out at the Hot Springs

Just a short drive outside of Spanish Fork, you’ll find the Fifth Water Hot Springs. This natural wonder is only a few miles from the nearest trailhead and features a series of naturally heated pools. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind, thanks to the soothing water and stunning surroundings. If you decide to spend more than a few minutes in the pools, be sure to bring water shoes to protect your feet from the spiky rocks underneath!

Go for a Swim at the Reservoir

If you’re craving a refreshing swim or some water-based fun, the Spanish Oaks Reservoir is the place to be. This scenic reservoir is a local favorite for swimming, paddleboarding, fishing, or simply lounging on the shore. Families will love the calm waters and well-maintained facilities, but you can also enjoy some fun in the sun with friends, a partner, or by yourself. The reservoir is surrounded by hiking trails, so consider combining a swim with a short hike for a full day of fun.

Welcoming You to Spanish Fork

Spanish Fork may not be as well-known as Salt Lake City further north, but this small city is a fantastic place to enjoy nature and check out unique events. Triple-T is proud to support community organizations, like the annual rodeo, and we’re excited to welcome new visitors into our town. There are plenty of things to do in Spanish Fork to fill your entire weekend. So, pack your bags and see what this place has to offer!
